Real 21st Century Sweethearts Say ‘Hello Boys!’ In New Forces Calendar

Armed Forces concierge company ‘Goodbooks’ DM Services asked for the girls to come forward to be featured in their 2010 Charity Calendar titled 21 st Century Forces Sweethearts earlier in the year and were overwhelmed with a the response.

The idea of the calendar was conceived by Goodbooks Director Lei Crowley who said; “As a business that works to assist the men and women in the Armed Forces, we were keen to do something to support related charities. I wanted to achieve a modern day calendar with today’s Armed Forces Personnel in mind and using real 21 st Century Sweethearts, rather than models, with a genuine interest in raising money for the Forces Charities. The Final 12 have been selected from all around the UK and all of them have a connection of some kind, with friends and/or family currently serving in the Forces, with one in particular whose partner only last week was deployed to Afghanistan.”

Delighted shoot co-ordinator Lucy Smithson of ‘Goodbooks DM’ said; “None of the girls had any modelling experience and were very nervous at first, however the sheer determination of why they were doing it showed through in each of the final images and we have achieved an amazing calendar that will not only please the boys, but hopefully raise funds for worthwhile causes.”

The money raised through the sale of the calendar will be attributed in a unique way.

Lei said; “At this time of year we are all encouraged to think of those who fight and have fought for our country. This is just one way that we can help pay our respect to those people. Everyone who buys a calendar from our website will be able to choose, from a selection, the charity that is most personal to them; Help for Heroes as well as other single service charities such as the RAF and Army Benevolent Funds and the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Charity. This is a process that has been warmly welcomed by all.”

The ‘Goodbooks’ team have kept the content of the Calendar under close wraps throughout the entire project, so the launch and reveal on Friday 6 th November is a very exciting time for all involved.

Lei said; “The images are using modern day Forces Uniforms rather than ‘fancy dress’ type uniforms usually used for this kind of thing. We wanted today’s Forces guys to be able to relate to what the girls are wearing and because we are supporting tri service charities we have made sure tri service uniforms have been used so there is something for everyone! What makes the images even more special is that all the girls are not ‘cut from the same cloth’ and we have a variety of natural beauty, shapes and sizes. Topless images leave nothing to the imagination, in these pictures there is a little intrigue to each, but it’s not too naughty for the boys to have to hide it when their Mums come to see them! We have sexy, tasteful, cheeky, patriotic and beautiful girls all wrapped up in one Calendar, it’s fantastic!”

Tickets for the launch can be bought at the door for £15.00 or a combination ticket is available for £20.00 which includes a ticket and calendar.
